O.k here I go again. There was just an article on blogs in the February edition of Reader’s Digest. This article touched on points like “the military command is nervous about postings violating security” or people getting fired because they are posting inappropriate things about her colleges. That makes me laugh in a way that some people lack that type of common sence or just don’t care, one of the two.
If yo are actaully looking for fellow bloggers they list a website for Canadians:
were you can find anything Canadian!!
The author also mentions how they can be useful if you have have family and friends around the world, and long distance charges can add up, or to avoid the repetition of e-mails or trying to editing it to siut everyone. A blog also allows for things to be posted and people to look at it at their convenience. If they want to look at it they can, if not it is not filling up their e-mail accounts.
So there are so good points and bad points to blogs, at this time I am find more bad points, hopefully that will change. Good and bad comes with everything that you do, so I’ll work on trying to leaving the bad and working on the good!!

I totally agree with you! I think that there will always be people who abuse technology and other forms of communication, but there are many more people out there who use it simply as a way to connect to others in a positive way. It is sad that there are people who use the speed and ease of the internet to send hurtful messages or share harmful information… it makes it all that much easier for bad information to get into the wrong hands when it is only a mouse-click away.
I think blogging is great. I have had my own personal blog site for over a year now and love it because it makes it so easy for my family to see what is happening in my life, but I am always leery of sharing too much information as I do not always know whose hands it will end up in. I think as educators we have to remember that we have to teach students the power of the internet and the dangers it can involve. By doing so hopefully we will instill in students a certain amount of respect for this communication tool and prevent them from using things such as blogger accounts as ways to spread hurtful/harmful information.
